The dome of the building that will contain the JST / T250 telescope of the Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre has been installed this week. This operation was done once the performance and sealing tests were successfully conducted.

To carry out the work, a large crane was used. It lifted the structure of 23 tons and 13 feet in diameter to the top of the building, which is located about 14 m above the ground.

In the coming weeks, the last performance and balance tests will be conducted before the final acceptance of the dome. The next step will be to install the mechanical structure of the JST / T250 telescope that has to be transported from Belgium.
